The Department of Civil Engineering of the Institute of Engineering & Management(IEM) was established in the year 1993 and has grown over the years into one of the finest centers of advanced research and training in the field of civil engineering and its intake capacity 60.

The Department has been in the forefront of advanced research in Civil Engineering and has also been very pro-active in industrial interaction and technology development.

Civil Engineering is the field of engineering sciences related to design, construction and maintenance of buildings, dams, bridges, tunnels, highways and other structures.

Civil Engineers utilize the available resources (expertise, materials, manpower) to complete the project in the given time span keeping in view the time, expenditure, environmental issues and physical hazards of the project.
